For a person without diabetes, throughout the day blood glucose levels (BGLs) will generally range between 4.0 – 7.8 millimoles of glucose per litre of blood (mmols/L).

There are a number causes for blood glucose levels to increase or decrease.  Our Diabetes Educator is able to conduct necessary tests and work with you to understand your blood sugar levels, and set targets that are right for you.

How can you maintain healthy blood glucose levels?

  • Eating a healthy diet
  • Regular physical activity
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Reducing alcohol consumption
  • Minimising processed and high sugar foods
  • Avoiding smoking

We recognise that addressing the above factors can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming. That's why we've developed a comprehensive metabolic health program, guided by accredited health professionals at our partner clinic in Melbourne, to support you every step of the way.

The Australian Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool (AUSDRISK)

The Australian Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool was developed by the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute on behalf of the Australian, state and territory governments as part of the COAG initiative to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

You can use the AUSDRISK tool to estimate your risk of getting type 2 diabetes in the next 5 years.
